Cross Academy was very lucky to be having an event for the Holidays. It seemed that it would change of the pace of events on campus. After all, it ended up being quite boring to go day in and day out with the same exact schedule. Mattaru Ichinose disagreed with how boring life could often be at the school, so he was always doing something different every single day. Sometimes these activities included skipping class. Kaname had scolded him when he had first started at the school, but over time he seemed to have just given up because he had skipped every so often and didn’t cause too much trouble. It seemed that a lot of the Night Class students would get upset that he could get away with so much, but he honestly didn’t seem to mind.
He was bored and done with everything to do with the ball. The entire idea seemed too cliché and typical to him. Besides, there was always a ball with the different campus events so he decided that he’d check out the haunted house that was set up for the students to enjoy. He figured that he could hide around and scare random faces or even find someone interesting that he could flirt with. After all, he loved the attention.
It seemed a lot of his fans had gone to the dance. How uncool! Who needed fans that couldn’t quite keep up with his fast changes of pace!? Tch. It figured that people couldn’t keep up with him. Oh, well! He’d just have to find his own mixture of fun for the night. Maybe he could flirt with random people and get their blood types listed and noted in his mind. He loved to do that, but it seemed that it wasn’t tolerated if you got caught doing that. Of course, he didn’t drink their blood; but he very much wanted to try it. He knew he’d get in a lot of trouble if he did.
He strolled down to the woods to see the gigantic set up that was before him. It was dark, creepy, and had your stereotypical ghosts, vampires, and cobwebs. He made a face and stuck out his tongue playfully at a little Dracula statue that was in the entrance. How ridiculous! Was that really supposed to be scary? It wasn’t scary to him because of how fake and untrue it was. However, he did find it quite amusing, so he figured that he could play along with it. He wondered how many Night Class students would file complaints to the Headmaster for this insulting display and he found himself chuckling out loud.
He had only just entered the house when he smelled a familiar scent that he seemed to crave and he felt his crimson gaze flashing as he licked his lips. It seemed like someone had gotten hurt in the house and left with blood somewhere in there… Or there was someone in there that was hurting. He found it hard to control himself, so he found himself moving towards the scent. He didn’t care if someone would follow him or not. His instincts and curiosity seemed to get the best of him. He figured that he could help someone out and maybe would be able to have a small taste of their blood left on his hands from helping with their wound.
To a normal human, that would normally sound and look repulsive and disgusting. However, to a vampire who was still getting used to only eating blood tablets it seemed to be a normal reaction. He didn’t think he’d get that big of a penalty if he didn’t bite the student who was hurting. If he was helping someone out, then there was really no reason that he could be seen as the bad guy. Hence, his mind was made up to see what had happened and what exactly seemed to be going on.
