She simply examined the nails of her right hand, pretending to care about them more than any conversation they were having. The boy was truly beginning to grate on her nerves. His reply to her questions only made her want to knock some sense into him but it was definitely inappropriate for her to do so. At the mention of her being more expressive, she let a faint smile graze her features. "And why, exactly, would I want to let a hunter see what I was feeling? Why would I let someone I don't know into my very thoughts?" Her words were calm. The same as her composure, calm, cool, and collected. He may have been able to breach her defenses once but that was it. Once was enough.
Looking at Kuro with an analytical gaze, she decided to show him observant but not how he'd expect it. Anything he decided to say can and will be used against him...after it was completely analyzed. It wasn't hard to play a ditz but for this, the face behind the mask needed to make its appearance. No more playing the fool. No more acting like she was stupid. He wanted to see the person she truly was, right? Well, soon he'd see a sliver of that person. A sliver that she had intended to remain buried but there was something about this kid that just annoyed her enough to show her true colors.

Kuro watched her carefully as she seemed to not even take an interest in his own words. That simply came off as a huge annoyance to him. He rather disliked it when someone acted like they didn’t care about a thing that he said. Of course, it made him realize that he would probably get very little respect from a vampire in the end. After all, they only cared about themselves and their own kind. They didn’t have any need or interest in humans like him; especially since he was a hunter.
His blue gaze found itself rolling away from her as well. He must be like a huge joke to her, right? He figured at least that much. That was his guess at least. He didn’t like to be made a fool of, but he figured that he’d wait and see where this situation could take him. Perhaps he could learn a little more than he intended to about this girl. She was so interesting with how she played hard to get with answering his questions. It was quite amusing nonetheless. He found himself stretching when she had finally spoke and he yawned as though he was expressing his boredom of her.
His gaze returned to her rather coldly. He figured this was all just a game, so he would continue to play along to this. He didn’t like to lose; especially to a vampire. It just seemed that it wasn’t an option in his book to lose to a vampire. He smirked at her now and just stared at her for a while before he had decided to apply. He wanted the silence to linger and let both of their thoughts wander. During that time he just kept grinning at her. It was amusing first off, and secondly it would make the situation a bit more tense and awkward. When a silence would happen upon a conversation a lot of people found it becoming awkward and would look for an escape.
“I don’t expect you to open up to me. Maybe you’re not really a girl after all. Just a monster.” He grinned broadly and let his pearly white teeth flash at her. He had found over time that vampires always hated to be referred to as monsters or beasts in the form of a human, but he just liked to press her buttons. She wouldn’t give him her name after all, so he’d just keep calling her a monster until she would budge and finally reveal her name to him. “It’s not nice to keep secrets. If you feel a certain way, you should speak your mind. You’re corrupt and twisted when you keep those thoughts hidden. I know you don’t like me. I know you don’t care for my presence being here or this conversation. You’re just trying to be polite.” He traced his fingers carefully on the table top. “I really don’t see why you’re not more honest. Girl’s are supposed to be like that, right? Maybe you’re not a girl… Maybe you’re a cross dresser?” He smirked and had to contain his laughter at his words. Did he really just insult her gender? It was quite a genius way to him with how he twisted his words. Then again, he wouldn’t know if she really was a girl or not.
Maybe vampires didn’t even have a separation of gender. For all he knew humans and vampires could be far more different than he had ever thought them to be. He continued to smirk at the girl and let his words sink in. After all, it was a pretty big insult. Of course, he felt a little bad, but he still wanted to chuckle at it. It was a mean joke, but one that you couldn’t help but laugh at because it was so sudden and so random. He stared at her casually now and waited for her reply not letting his arrogant grin leave his face. He was prepared for whatever she would say next.

Interesting. He was actually going to play her game. Maybe it was time to fight fire with fire. Or maybe it was best to just reply with something he wouldn't expect. The second one sounded good and with her course of action set, she smiled politely even with his constant berating. The cross dresser remark though earned him a secretive and highly devilish little grin. "Why do you ask? Is it because you're curious to find out?" The words alone were enough of a taunt to make any normal person flush bright red with embarrassment but something convinced her to keep going. "A lecherous hunter...now that's funny. Here I thought all hunters were only focused on killing my kind, not finding out what's under their clothes." She raised a hand to her mouth to somewhat hide the smile that had surfaced.
Amusing, this boy was. Very, very amusing. She could toy with him all day but there were other pressing matters to attend to. After a couple moments to let him take in the words she'd spoken, she would laugh at his expression. Not a practiced laugh either. A real genuine laugh that ended up fading away quickly once she had realized she let her mask slip. She cleared her throat and took a sip of the punch she still had from earlier. As she set her glass down, she asked him one last thing before folding her hands on the table and continuing to watch him.
"What exactly do you hope to gain by attempting to upset me?" Her tone was completely serious all the while holding the note of a false, practiced manner of speaking.
Note: If he's a jerk, then she's a b*tch.

Kuro was pretty satisfied with his comment and his own remark towards the girl. He didn’t care if he hurt her feelings too much because she was a vampire. He figured that she was just like the rest of them and by the way she seemed to be acting, he figured that she couldn’t possibly show too many human emotions. It made it easier he thought to mess with her. He would feel less guilty. It was because she was a vampire that she was an easy target for him as a hunter to toy around with her. Maybe it was better that he didn’t even know her name. It figured that she wouldn’t be sympathetic towards him, so why should he show sympathy towards her, right?
He kept an amused grin and smirk on his face. He wanted to keep her on edge. If he could, he would probably press her to her limits as best as he could. After all, he liked to make people squirm. It just seemed to be a lot more fun when it came to Saya. He figured it was probably because she was a vampire or whatever. He didn’t mind though.
When she had finally replied he found himself rolling his eyes at her first question to him. “Of course. Why would someone ask a question if they don’t seek an answer? Are vampires really that incompetent that they can’t figure out something so simple?” He smirked and kept his expression quite calm and composed now. He figured that she couldn’t quite come back as well as he could. Then again, you never could tell, could you?
Kuronosuke had taken a moment of silence to pause and take in a sip of the drink that he had. It was her second words that stopped him dead in his thoughts and caused him to react so suddenly. Everything he had been doing was now put on hold and his next actions felt like they were playing out in slow motion from what he did. As he had moved the glass from his lips she had spoken those words and he had spit out the drink from his mouth on her in response to his shock from her comment. He was absolutely stunned that she would even think to ask or come up with such a reply for him. What a strange girl this one was! Maybe all vampires were like this deep down!
“Wh-What!?” His expression was embarrassed and quite flustered. “How could you even think of something like that!? And even more so, saying something like that in public.” His flustered expression quickly found itself sinking into a calmer one as he tried to compose himself. He figured that this was exactly how she wanted him to react to her words. But, he had almost forgotten where the juice that he spit out had gone. Right across the table all over her more than likely.
He let his sapphire gaze stare at the girl who was probably soaked now and had a ruined outfit. He wondered if she would show a reaction, or if she would continue to play off as though she was calm and try to do something else. He then broke into laughter that probably looked insane to people around them. He just couldn’t stop laughing! Everything that was happening was just too funny! Not only was a hunter having a conversation with a vampire, but they were actually conversing in what he found to be a fun manner at that even though it was them taunting one another back and forth.
He had laughed so hard that a few tears escaped his eyes and he had to gasp for air. “I… I’m so sorry. It’s just….” He laughed even harder now as he tried to regain his composure. It had been so long since he had been able to laugh like this and not have to worry about being so serious. It was strange because normally he could keep himself very composed. However, when he was around this girl now he could loosen up and have a few laughs. It was very nice though.
At her statement of him trying to upset her, he coughed and regained his straight face and smirk. “All I want is a simple reaction from you. I don’t care what it is. Right now, the serious act. It’s adorable. However, I think you’re slipping up yourself in between composure through a mask that you wear. It’s not hard to tell after all.” He ran his fingers through his hair and he kept his gaze quite serious on the girl. He didn’t mind her behavior at all. If she wanted to be mean and tease him, it was alright. He’d just tease her right back. It was something that he could do for fun. It was a nice escape from Cross Academy and the Hunter’s Association; for now at least!

Just as she had expected he was completely embarrassed and flustered by her words. Not a shock really. More like an average reaction for any living being but even so, it made her really smile. Somehow, her attempt to get under this boy's nerves ended up having an unexpected reaction, it ended up making the boy drop his guard and his mask for the briefest of moments. Getting sprayed in the face wasn't exactly something she wanted to dwell on. Clothes could be cleaned and thinks like that can be wiped off easily. Picking up a napkin, she wiped off her face and brushed off her clothes. It really wasn't that big of a deal.
His comment on being able to tell when she was hiding behind the mask, made her shrug and return her gaze back to the people on the dance floor. They were off beat, way off beat and it was amusing but she didn't want to join in, especially when it was a slow song. She watched them silently, thinking about what he had said. He wanted a reaction from her. He wanted to see her without the mask. It was possible but she couldn't risk it. Not unless...
"I'll drop my mask if you drop yours."
As she spoke she let her gaze drift back to the boy sitting across from her. Her words held a hint of coldness but behind them, she knew that it would probably result in so much mockery if she dropped the act. Self defense in another fashion. Where most turn to violence, she turns to closing herself off from others. What bothered her the most though was a question that was continuously waiting to be asked.
"Why are you bothering to try for a reaction from me? Why are you trying to see past my mask? You should be content with what's on the surface like everyone else."
As the last few words escaped her, she returned her gaze back to the people on the floor. It was nothing but a distraction. She wouldn't completely ignore him but as of right now, he was proving to be more dangerous to her than any other hunter she'd come across.
